A Message From the MoMM Team

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: you are enough. We’re here to celebrate movement, expression, and the power of embracing exactly who you are—right here, right now. Whether through dance, wellness, or community, we create space for authenticity, confidence, and connection.

Come as you are. Move as you feel. Grow as you go.

Training and Background

A Cuban-American growing up in Miami, FL, Janelle began her dance training at Ronquillo's School of Dance under Edmundo Ronquillo and Alberto Alonso. She continued her studies at New World School of the Arts under Dean Daniel Lewis, the Boston Ballet Summer Intensive, and primarily at the Miami Youth Ballet with Marielena Mencia and Yanis Pikieris—her “home away from home.” She earned her BFA in Dance from NWSA/University of Florida and launched her professional career with Freddick Bratcher and Co., later joining River North Chicago Dance as an apprentice and Central Florida Ballet as a company member.

Professional Dance Career

In Central Florida, Janelle became an equity dancer at Walt Disney World, performing as the Sugar Plum Fairy in Celebrate the Season on the castle stage. She went on to join the original casts of two Feld Entertainment productions: Disney Live! High School Musical Summer Celebration (ensemble/Gabriella) and Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival (Princess Jasmine/Dance Captain), touring across North, Central, and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. She also toured as lead dancer with Feld Motor Sports’ Nuclear Cowboyz.

Her performance credits include the VMAs, Billboard Music Awards, ABC Christmas Day Parade, Lululemon, Netflix, Royal Caribbean, Cirque du Soleil’s One Night One Drop, and the Latin Grammys. She has shared the stage with artists such as Miley Cyrus, Coolio, P. Diddy, Ashlee Simpson, Katharine McPhee, Tracy Morgan, Olga Tañón, Armin Van Buuren, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, and Los Gigantes.

With a strong passion for choreography and teaching, Janelle worked closely with Fred Tallaksen as assistant choreographer on projects for Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey’s Fully Charged, Disney Live!, Google, Cisco, and various industrial events. During her time in Las Vegas, she performed and modeled in multiple shows, gaining recognition for her featured role as a pointe-dancing flight attendant.

Janelle and MoMM

Now based in Vancouver, BC, Janelle balances life as an entrepreneur, global dance educator, adjudicator, and model—all while raising a family. With over a decade of teaching experience, founding Method of Modern Movement Co. has been a dream realized. Through MoMM, she aims to share her passion for movement and inspire others to chase their dreams, build confidence, and enhance their well-being.
